Mission

The Berls Xcellence Vocal Music Fund was created by former students to honor longtime GHS vocal music teacher Mr. Berls. It supports the vocal music department with sustainable, ongoing funding—ensuring future generations experience the same joy and inspiration he shared in the classroom.

It’s a tribute, a legacy, and a shining example of how one person’s impact can echo for decades.

Profile

All contributions to this endowed fund directly support enhanced learning and meaningful experiences for students in the high school vocal music program. The fund provides resources for improvements in concert sound, lighting, and other performance needs, ensuring students can learn and perform in a high-quality environment. In addition, the fund supports professional growth for our music faculty by offering access to workshops and clinics focused on curriculum development, student retention, and current best practices in arts education. Together, these investments strengthen both teaching excellence and student achievement.
