Specific Need

We would like to see a big increase in our Spay/Neuter program. In the past we just used word of mouth in case we ran out of funds for the project. This would be a good way to advertise so more people know about it. There are far too many unwanted animals born everyday in the community. People want pets but, with todays economy, they can't afford to alter them. Therefore, they have litter after litter of unhealthy homeless animals.

We offer $50 towards their spay or neuter. If we could help alter 100 animals, we would eliminate thousands of unwanted pets out of shelters, off the streets and save them from sickness, starvation and neglect. Funding would sure help with this ongoing problem. The animal shelter can only take on the number of animals they can afford. Vet expenses are going up as much as everything else. We see this as a way to help with the over population problem before it starts and help current pet owners take care of their animals. It's common to find cats that have been tossed out on the street to fend for themselves because people can no longer afford them. These cats eventually become wild and continue to reproduce until they die. This grant would be used just for pet owners that need a little help.
